Responsible Play

Last updated: June 22, 2026

Square Off is free to enter — you never put money on the line to play. But competition and reward-chasing can still become unhealthy habits. This page explains how to play in a way that stays fun and under your control, and where to find support if you need it.

Our commitment

Because Square Off is free to enter, there is no financial risk to playing — you cannot lose money on the Platform. Even so, we recognize that any activity tied to competition and rewards can, for some people, become compulsive or take up more time than intended. We are committed to giving you the tools and information you need to keep play enjoyable and in perspective.

Staying in control

  • Set a time limit before you play and check in on it regularly.
  • Treat prize rewards as a fun bonus, not a reliable income stream — earnings are small and depend on winning.
  • Don’t play to escape stress, boredom, or problems. If you catch yourself doing this, take a break.
  • Take regular breaks, especially during long sessions.
  • Keep play balanced with the rest of your day — work, study, relationships, and rest.
  • If you feel frustrated after a loss, step away rather than immediately re-entering to chase a win.

Warning signs

It may be time to pause and reflect if you:

  • Spend significantly more time playing than you intended;
  • Feel an urge to play constantly or feel anxious when you can’t;
  • Play to escape problems, low mood, or stress;
  • Neglect work, study, sleep, or relationships to play more; or
  • Feel irritable or unable to stop even when you want to.

If any of this sounds familiar, the tools below and the support resources at the bottom of this page can help.

Tools we offer

We aim to give you practical controls over your play. You can access these by contacting us or, as they roll out, directly in your account settings:

  • Play limits — caps on how many matches or ad views you complete per day or per session.
  • Reality checks — periodic on-screen reminders of how long you have been playing.
  • Cooling-off periods — a short break during which you cannot access matches.
  • Self-exclusion — a longer-term or permanent close of your account on request, after which we will take reasonable steps to keep it closed. Any earned reward balance will be made available for redemption subject to verification.
  • Account closure — you can ask us to close your account at any time at contact@squareoff.gg.

Protecting minors

The Platform is strictly for adults aged 18 or over (or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction if higher). We use age and identity checks to enforce this. If you share a device, keep your credentials private and use parental-control tools to prevent access by anyone underage. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us immediately at contact@squareoff.gg.
